Below are some of my longtime go-to cookbooks. If you're curious what my favorite recipes are, feel free to comment with questions! These are the cookbooks I can't live without, and I think you'll feel the same way. There are Amazon Prime links to each of these favorite cookbooks with blurbs by each title.
General:
The Flavor Bible: For anyone who understands the basics of cooking, and is looking to get adventurous. This book is more of a list of flavor pairings than a recipe book, but it has never steered me wrong!
The New Best Recipe: This has been my go-to for over a decade. Of course, the editions change and the recipes vary slightly, but no matter which edition you're using, this cookbook never fails to create a fabulous result!
Ad Hoc at Home: Filled with world-renowned Thomas Keller's family-style recipes, this book is perfect for entertaining, or a cozy evening meal!
Vegetarian/Vegan:
Plenty: This book of "vibrant vegetable recipes" is just that! Looking for ways to get creative with vegetarian options? Look no further! This book is great for new vegetarians.
Thug Kitchen: I love this cookbook purely for its presentation. Don't get me wrong, the recipes are delicious! It's just that a tagline like, "eat like you give a fuck!" speaks to me way, deep down in my soul.
How to Cook Everything Vegetarian: This is easily THE BEST cookbook for someone transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle. It makes cooking anything so accessible, being a vegetarian never seemed so easy!
Desserts:
Ovenly: Easily my favorite dessert cookbook. The Dark Chocolate Stout Cake is a family favorite, and none of their recipes has ever disappointed me!
Butter Baked Goods: A great gift for a friend or family member looking to learn to make cakes and other sweets themselves! Everyone needs this cookbook.
Something Sweet: This one's a bit more adventurous than the other two, having more categories and focusing less on baked sweets. If you're looking to get adventurous, look no further!
